Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FROM HIS FOSTER
To say Toby has had a great life would be a lie. One of our rescuers found Toby chained to a porch with ants in his food after the owners had called saying they moved away three days prior to Michigan and did not want him any longer because he was old. He was then sent to the shelter and put on the euthanasia list due to old age. I have always been interested in fostering, and saw Toby online as he went viral. It was his last day in the shelter before he was set to be euthanized. I drove from Carlsbad, CA up to Mission Viejo and took him under my wing. When I first got Toby, he was full of issues physically and mentally. Physically, he had sores all over his body and was covered in fleas. He was cryptorchid (doctors found out later he has testicular cancer that was removed), and
needed six major canines removed. He also had arthritis, flea infestation, and a bad ear infection. With no rescue backing, I decided to start a go fund me for all his medical needs. Miraculously, I was able to raise 3500. His surgery alone was 2800 because he was under for so long. He has been in and out of the vet for the past month.
I have had him over a month. He now is on the tail end of all of his issues! He only has two more weeks of skin meds and he has lost 9 lbs allowing him to not rely on arthritis meds anymore. His personality is coming out too!
He is such a happy boy and he loves chips. Toby would do best in an only dog home. He is low maintenance and loves to walk! He has not had one accident in our house. He is very self-sufficient. If Toby were to be adopted, he would come with 2 months of arthritis meds, a bag of food, a bed, leash, and LOVE! I would hope to be able to see him from time to time as well since we have created such a strong Bond.
