In a short paragraph Please provide any other details or a brief overview of your foster dog: Roudy came to us through a rescue in Patras, Greece. He was owned by an old man who had him chained on some property but he did not live there. He would come once or twice a week to feed him. Some girls in the area heard Roudy's cries and decided to help care for him. They visited him and brought him food. One day they left with him and took him to the vet. They were not permitted by their parents to keep him so they were walking around with him trying to decide what to do. They knew they couldn't take him back to the way he was living. The director of the rescue in Greece saw them and watched. She thought they were trying to dispose of him somewhere. When she found out what happened, she offered to take him.
Roudy arrived in Canada on August 13th. He is a very loving, trusting puppy. He plays well with other dogs, loves to meet and be with people and adores to just be patted and loved. He is not too familiar with playing with a lot of toys but has chosen to play with a small hockey ball and some hard plastic bones on his own. He loves to run in enclosed park areas. He does like shoes and socks but easily trades them for a toy. He is very well mannered at meal and treat times. We had a little bit of jumping for treats in the beginning or trying to take when they were being given to the other dogs (never aggressively) but has learned to wait until it is given directly to him.
His first language is Greek but he is quickly learning some of our words and gestures. He would do very well in some basic obedience classes as he is attentive. It would help with the language as well.
