My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The first step of the adoption process is completing an application. Please visit http://southernstylegreatdanerescue.org/application/ for an online application.

Note: We will not answer any questions about the Dane until an application is completed and returned.

Likes-
Having my face rubbed; Walks where I’m allowed to sniff whatever I want; Snuggles-- I’d love a home where I could sleep with my owner; Pulling the stuffings out stuffed animal; Getting the Zoomies and being allowed to romp; A great game of tug; A friendly wrestle with other
dogs.

Dislikes-
I don’t like being separated from my people, and I’m not shy about making sure you know- I’m not terribly loud about it, but I have stamina; I’m not partial to boundaries about food-- I’d like to have what you’re having.

Things that are not so great about me-
Counter-Surfing, and not just for food-- I’m game to test how dog-proof your house really is! Please be careful to remove glass bowls and such, as I have very poor eyesight and might hurt myself with the loot I get from my counter-surfing. I am VERY strong and sometimes bombard you with affection. My manners are a little rough around the edges. I am nearly deaf in addition to my rough eyesight, so I need some help working on commands.

Things that are amazing about me-
I am the lovingest dog on the face of the earth! I love a good nap and a cuddle on rainy days. I am house trained, but do best with a leash in the beginning until I learn the layout of my new place! Also, keep an eye on me in the rain. I don’t like to ruin my mani-pedi, so I sometimes pretend I went outside. I am very dog friendly! Give me a few supervised minutes to get used to my new friends (keep in mind things are scarier when you can’t see them well!) and I’m a great team-player. I don’t seem particularly offended by my foster mom’s chickens or the neighbor’s cat, though I haven’t had close contact. I’m a happy eater once I adjust to new foods, and I share nicely. I’m a people dog! I have very much enjoyed walking the Silver Comet trail and meeting new friends, but please bring lots of water, as I’m a big drinker. Also, I’m a petite Dane! All the fun of a great big friend, all of the manageability of a dog you actually outweigh. Although I’m strong, I’m quite polite on a reasonably short leash.

Finally, I’m the sweetest of girls. I like to give occasional kisses. I love to have my face snuggled. I just love love. My foster’s are REALLY going to be sad to see me go, but can’t wait to see me find my forever-home!
