Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our sweet boy Barkley. Barkley is an amazing 9 month old blind chocolate lab. Barkley is in a foster home with 2 labs and a small mix dog as well as a cat and he is looking for a permanent place to call home. Barkley warms up quickly after he has been introduced to his new environment, since he is blind it does take him a moment to adjust. He adores everyone and is a total lover! He needs a home with no pool, no doggy door, a canine companion as he loves to play and really learns a lot from them. Bark is good with cats, dogs and love his people.
Being blind hardly stops this pup! He knows sit, come, down, off and is kennel and leash (with a harness) trained. He has also learned our dog door bells and tells us when it’s time to go potty.
Barkley would thrive in a home with an experienced family that has had blind dogs. As it can take some patience to get them acclimated to new surroundings. With that being said, he has completely learned my house in 1 week and is no longer bumping into stuff but instead walking around them.
He loves his antlers, Nyla bones and new babies so much. This pup looks different but if anything he’s the best lab you can have. As a 9 month old pup he’s more aware and loving, less destructive and rambunctious than any lab I’ve ever had.
