Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! This is Huckleberry! Huckleberry is a sweet, well-mannered, and cuddly 5 year old 20 lb black tri Australian Shepherd. He is so smart and willing to please. In fact, he is completely potty trained and will let you know when he has to go potty. He usually eats in the morning and the afternoon, but he will even adhere to any schedule you put him on. He is a very flexible dog when it comes to new things. He is a complete love bug who has a passion for chew toys and snuggles. Huck spends most days relaxing or playing with his foster sister. He loves to play chase. It takes him a little bit longer to warm up to other dogs, but in time he will do well. He will do well with older kids (kid-approved 6 years old and up), calmer and smaller dogs, and absolutely no cats. Sometimes he can feel a bit insecure around bigger dogs or cats. The perfect family would be one that is loving, patient, as well as home-body. Huckleberry very much enjoys the small things in life (ie. naps, watching TV, snuggling, etc.). If you do decide you would like to go for a walk, he is perfect on a leash! He doesn’t pull and will stay right with you. He doesn’t do very well in an open area. He will need a fenced in backyard to run and play. He is okay with going on small adventures to the store and such but will not be great for traveling a lot. He gets a bit car sick. While he’s at home, he’s either snuggling his foster dad while he sleeps during the day or he is pouncing and chasing his foster sister. He does pretty well in a crate even though he doesn’t care to be inside of one. He’s very quiet and he would make a great pet for inside of an apartment. He is very submissive and lives to please his human. His reaction to his human approaching him is to lay down or to get on his back to show his belly. If he sees a stranger, he is ready for all the love he can squeeze out of you! Sometimes if he is laying down, he will down right refuse to move so that he can either a) stay comfortable or b) snuggle someone. He just lives to love. He give snuggles to sleep and is a bed hog. He just loves to have human contact and to feel secure and loved.
Huck is being fostered in Dothan, Alabama
