My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

8/12/19 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!
Adoption Fee: $250
Fostered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Age: 8.5 years
Weight: 5.5 lbs.

ZOEY IS A YORKIE/CHIHUAHUA MIX!

3/18/19 - Foster mom said it was time for another photo shoot since I was practically bald when I first arrived. Now I have a full body of hair. It's amazing what good food, good beauty products and asking the fleas to take up residence in another location will do. Not to toot my own horn, but I am just about the most perfect Chorkie ever. I'm loving, attentive, caring, eat good, use the pee pads in the house, do my business outside when we are out, sleep excellent (as long as I am sleeping near my human), am good for a bath and blow dry..... Well, I could be here all day telling you all the good things about me.

If I had to tell you the cons, the only things I can think of is that I love to lick. If you sit long enough, I like to lick you arm, legs, hand, anything exposed to let you know how much I love you. Some might think that is annoying, foster mom and dad don't care. They rock! I also have the very high pitched alien sound that I make when you are fixing breakfast and supper and when you leave the house. I guess it's my bark, but it comes out very weird. So, that's it. That's the only two things I can think of that could possibly be negative. I personally don't see them as negative, so I'm kinda perfect in my own eyes. Oh, foster mom says that you will need to be perfect too if you plan on being my parent(s). Adult only home please, I want all the attention. Thanks!

8/29/18 - Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful. Can I help it if I am just a natural beauty? Let’s see…. Loss of hair from fleas? Check! Large tumor on side that has been ignored for quite some time? Check! Teeth that have probably never had a dental and are in dire need now? Check! Nails so long that they curled under? Check! Hernia that needed repairing? Check! Half glass full, sweet, loving personality? Double Check!!
Zoey’s dad brought her to the local animal control explaining that the kids were all grown up now and his wife “didn’t want her anymore”. Wow, where do I sign up to be a part of that awesome family. NOT!
Well, YHR is thankful for the call from a rescue friend reaching out for help for Zoey. She is just the sweetest baby ever. She instantly falls in love with her human(s). She is more attached to her foster mom, but foster dad is winning her over slowly when he gets down on the ground and lays with her and whispers in her ear that not all dads will bring their babies to the shelter. Zoey loves to be held like a baby over your shoulder and loves to give kisses. Zoey is a die-hard clingy baby and will follow you every step.
Zoey has been to the vet and had an over-haul. The tumor was removed and sent off and was malignant, but the great doctors got it all. She will need to be watched and if any little lumps or bumps reappear, the vet will need to check them out. The hernia was repaired, the teeth were cleaned, she is getting medicated baths and the hair is slowly growing back. Zoey is definitely a diamond in the rough and is going to make someone a very lucky person.
She is fine co-existing with other dogs but doesn’t really play with them. She would probably do fine around cats but is very skittish around small children.
Look at this face and tell me you can resist.

8/23/18 - BIO COMING SOON!
