Hello! My name is Snow White and I am searching for my best friend. I was hoping you would take some time out of your day to get to know me and see if I could be the one that you have been searching for. I am a playful 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Rottweiler/Boxer mix and some of my favorite activities include collecting things and playing in water.
Before we talk about who I am now, we must first explore my past. When I was just 8 weeks old, I was rescued from a hoarding situation in California along with my seven siblings. We were in bad shape; we had infections and abscesses on our bodies, and I was covered in bite wounds and scars. I am even missing some of my teeth from the abuse I endured.
I have since learned to trust again and I am a super sweet girl with humans. While I enjoy the company of men and women, I can be shy toward both and even a little scared of men at first. With proper introductions I quickly become comfortable and you will get to know my playful side in no time. I do well around older children, but since the little ones can be unpredictable, they make me nervous.
You would never know it just by looking at me, but I’ve had Bilateral TPLO and Patella Lux surgeries. A home with a sedentary lifestyle would be best for me as I don’t require long walks or hikes and shouldn’t overdo it with my playing. However, having a good time is important to me and I am thankful I can still play ball. In fact, don’t be surprised if you catch me tossing the ball to myself and chasing after it all on my own! I am on daily joint supplements and I have a prescription to take if I am displaying any signs of discomfort. I am allergic to chicken and have been on a limited grain/no grain diet while also avoiding beef. I am an otherwise healthy pup and with proper weight management and exercise modifications I can live to be an old lady.
I love to have fun and enjoy myself, but I can also be serious and reactive at times. New situations make me uneasy, especially when they involve strange dogs. I am known around the rescue for terrorizing cats, so it is probably best if I am the only animal in the house. Don’t worry though, I am a loyal companion and a life with me is sure to include endless cuddles full of love!
I can be left home alone or if you want to bring me along on your adventure I do well in cars. I have patiently watched as several of my siblings get adopted and leave for their forever homes. I know my chance is coming soon and finding the perfect family for me will have been worth the wait. If you think we would make a good match please fill out an application for my adoption.
