Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Sadie is currently being fostered in Houston – meaning meeting her prior to her adoption will not be possible. Her adoption donation is $500USD – this includes her transport home and she has been fully vetted. Sadie will be transported home via pet safe transport who make a few stops in CT for drop offs. Because transport and care are expensive, the adoption fee is non-negotiable. **
Our beautiful Sadie came to us as so many of our dogs do, just a stray in a city of a million strays. Lucky for her she walked out in front of the right car one day who scooped her up and got her to our vet who asked if we could make space for her in our rescue. Sadie has blossomed into simply the most amazing family dog!
Sadie is a Lab Mix of some sort – she has some Hound characteristics (long ears, long snout), but is just overall a beautiful mixed breed girl. We are estimating Sadie will be a good mid-sized dog in the 50-pound range when fully filled out. She is an active girl – but does enjoy down time with her foster family. She would be best suited for a family that can commit to consistently getting him proper exercise and socialization. She will be great running, hiking, adventure buddy for the right family.
Sadie currently lives with other dogs and does great with all dogs big and small, she has never met a dog she doesn’t want to play with! She would be great as an addition to a family with other dogs or as a single gal as long as her family commits to ongoing socialization. She’d be a great companion for a family with children that have been taught to be respectful of animals. She has not been tested with cats but given her general disposition we don’t anticipate any issues with her living with a kitty friend.
The best suited family will be one that understands that dogs can take time to acclimate to their new homes - which could include having accidents, crying in their kennel, and chewing on things they are not supposed to. Sadie will be best suited for a family that can provide her with patience and positive reinforcement as faces moving from her foster into her forever family.
We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who plan to keep them as indoor pets and part of the family. We do not adopt to families who plan to keep dogs outside for an extended period of time, for example the entire workday.
Sadie is one of the happiest girls you could hope to meet. She is very healthy and has been adoringly cared for by her foster home. She has been fully vetted including vaccinations, spay, microchip and she has no known health or allergy issues.
