Are you looking for a sweet, easy-going, and energetic companion for you and your current dogs? Meet Darby! She is an 9 month old BC/Aussie/Lab mix located in Tampa, Florida. This spunky gal is available 9/21 once she recovers from her spay.
Darby enjoys playing with toys. Sometimes her foster parents catch her passing the ball to herself like a cat. She gets along well with dogs of all energy levels, but she would especially enjoy a canine partner to romp around the yard with. If your pup does not play with her, she may try to persuade them with her goofy faces and sweet dance moves.
Darby does not like car rides or thunderstorms. Darby can be a bit skittish around humans, but with the help of other confident, friendly pups she is slowly learning that she loves her neck to be scratched and cuddles.
Darby is on a consistent potty schedule and is house trained. Her foster parents work 8 hour days M-F and there are no incidents. She enjoys her crate and knows when to go "in". As with all puppies, she can be a little bit destructive with your TV remote if left unsupervised so a crate is recommended while at work! She is making improvements with leash training, but her future owner would have to continue her training. She currently knows "down" and "up" and she is very food motivated.
Darby would thrive in an environment that is low stimulation with a maximum of two adults. Her ideal owners would probably be homebodies or people that would not expect Darby to be a socialite (at least not immediately). Her ideal home would also have another dog that is friendly and confident to be her teacher and playmate.
We are looking for a potential adopter that is patient and open to working with Darby's initial shyness and leash training. A fenced in yard is highly preferred since she does not enjoy car rides and her leash training is not 100%. Another dog is a MUST.
