My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Singing Blues is trying to help Chester find a loving new home. He is currently located the St. Paul/Minneapolis metro area.

Chester is:

ACTIVE! He will go go go all day and is always up for doggy playtime. He makes an excellent jogging partner but just won't fetch! He LOVES to go for car rides and will usually fall asleep if it's longer than 20 min.

QUIET! In his crate at night he rarely makes a peep and will wait in his crate to eat supper or if he thinks he's getting a treat. Very food motivated.

AFFECTIONATE! If you even look at him, he's in your lap giving kisses. He loves any and all people...sometimes way more than the normal dog should. Personal boundaries are considered optional for him...

JUMPY! He needs someone to tell him "off" when he gets too excited and is so eager to please that he will excel at obedience or agility. His new home should consist of a dominant person/people.

CONFIDENT! He truly believes that everyone thinks he's the coolest thing ever. Even when they are Clearly telling him otherwise. (He doesn't take a hint well and has gotten snarked at by some dogs at the dog park because of his exuberance but he keeps on going back for more!).

NEARLY HOUSEBROKEN! If he's kept on a schedule he doesn't have accidents. He is crated at night and likes it if you stand with him outside while he does his business (otherwise he sits at the door waiting for you and doesn't go and do his thing very quickly).

ALL ABOUT PEOPLE! He loves getting all the attention but shares his foster mom with 2 dogs and is submissive to the other dogs. He would not do well with a very dominant dog (and females are his FAVORITE!)

GOOFY! He is the foster clown! He will do anything to make you engage in play or talk to him including hiding in the laundry basket and playing furniture olympics from the kitchen to the living rooms.

A KITTY CHASER!! He will chase a cat to the ends of the earth. He lives with 2 right now and they are always his main focus if they're in the room and if they weren't so dog savvy and tried to run from him, they might not be with us today...(If you catch my drift)

SMART!
He already knows "sit", "kennel up", "off" and "go for a walk". He doesn't stray from our yard (not fenced), knows his name, and comes flying when called! He responds extremely well to positive reinforcement and lives for praise!

YOUNG AND AVAILABLE
He is about 18 months old (give or take a little) and still acts very much like a puppy but doesn't chew or destroy things, just likes to play. He's about 50lbs and won't get any bigger (maybe just fatter) and cannot go to a home with children under 8. (He can get pretty wild when he plays and will jump on kids). A farm situation would not be ideal for Chester because he is a heeler...he has gone after the horses and animals several times and gets overly assertive with them when he's trying to get them to run.

THE DOG YOU'RE LOOKING FOR!!!Chester's a cattle dog/possibly pit mix and a wonderful boy!!! He's also up to date on all vaccinations and neutered! He is just waiting for you to take him home!
