Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jocque is about 7 years old. He was taken from a bad living situation. Even before this recent bad past living situation, he was found in Camden where children were beating him in the streets with a blunt object and compound fractured his rear leg. The vet wanted to amputate his leg, but he was taken to an orthopedic surgeon who repaired it. We know this because while he was recovering, the guardian who had him, asked us to house him while he was in recovery. Normally we do not do this, but they did not know how to keep him calm and had spent so much money on his repair that they wanted to make sure he healed right. Jocque's leg is fully healed and you would never know which one it was, the vet did a fine job.
About a year after he went back to his home, the household deteriorated and things got very bad there. At that point, they called us to take him and place him for adoption.
He is current on all his shots, neutered, front declawed and test negative for FIV/FeLv.
Jocque is a strange kitty. When he gets into one of his moods, he starts growling at himself and attacking his own tail. He cannot be around human bare legs or he starts licking them and then bites them. So keep him out of the bath area. LOL. (Bare arms seem to be ok, for whatever reason.) He can sometimes bite a little harder than he should if he is a little excited, stressed or has had too much play. At this point, letting him calm down on his terms is the best way for him to forget about it.
He does have quite charming traits as well. He is playful, very lovable, but watch out cause he does weave in and out of your legs, especially around the dinner area. He can get along with other cats (He lived with 8 others at his old house). He has also lived with 4 dogs in his past house. We are asking forprevious experienced cat guardians only for Jocque, as his temperament is something that experienced cat guardians would more understand and that's why we classify him as a special needs kitty.
No small children under 6 please.
