My name is Chico!

UPDATED BIO 6/14/2009: My name is Chico. I am 3 years old and weigh 13# (though FM says I should probably lose 1/2 - 1 lb... guess I need to do more swimming!) My owners gave me up so that I could get more attention than they could give me with all their other pets. I am so NOT high-maintenance though!I am very easygoing. FM works long hours and I just hang out and sleep on her comfy bed and wait for her. She leaves me a wee wee pad just in case I REALLY hafta go. Sometimes I hold it all day. Sometimes I use the wee wee pad.


I LOVE LOVE LOVE to go for walks. Sometimes I growl at the big dogs walking by. (Don'tcha know I have to show them how Macho I am?) Once I get up close, though, my little tail wags and we're just fine. I don't mind little dogs. I chase bicycles and rollerbladers. I also like to run up to kitty cats. If they stay put, I don't chase them. If they hiss and run, ooh ooh ooh, it's SO much fun to try to catch them!


Sometimes my FM takes me out kayaking. I am SO well behaved. Sometimes I walk to the front of the boat and pretend I'm the "King of the World" like Jack from the Titanic. I fell off once, but it was OK because FM makes me wear a life preserver. It has a little handle that she can use to scoop me out of the water. Yesterday I went to the beach and swam all day. I like to chase my other four legged friends in the water. Then we went out on a little sailboat.


So, I'm hoping that someone will adopt me who likes to do fun things with me. I feel like I'm the best of both worlds. I can chill out and relax or go about the town and explore fun things to do. I am desperately seeking a home to call me very own. FM feels it's best for me not to be in a home with kids since I occasionally get a little "bratty" when I have a treat I don't want her to take from me. She is working with me so that I do not guard these things, but she still feels like it would be best for a couple with some doggie experience to adopt me.


OK OK one more thing. I can sit and go up on my hind legs. FM is working on some more tricks, but what does she think - that I'm some sort of circus dog? Foo-Foo dogs like me don't have to work!

UPDATED BIO 5/9/2009: Chico is 3 y/o and 13 lbs. Well, I got adopted last weekend; but after a few days, my new family decided they didn't like the fact that my tongue was always hanging out of my mouth; so, they brought me back to live with my Foster Mom. I guess they weren't my FURever family? I'm a good little boy. I promise. Here's some facts.....I don't bark much; I'm housetrained; I love small dogs and giving kisses (yes, with my long and not-at-all gross tongue).


Foster Mom says I do some cool "tricks". Wanna know what? Well.....I can sit on command, and sometimes I sit up on my hind legs when I really want to get a belly rub. Now, for the really kewl one - Foster mom says the best trick is that I found a way to tell her that I like my food a little wet. If she doesn't put a little water in my food, I push the water dish all the way over to my food dish and splash the water in my food with my nose. She says I'm a smartie pants!! Can I be your smartie pants??? FM says my next home will be my FURever home. Could it be yours?

UPDATED BIO 4/7/2009: Hello again - It's Chico. I'm 3 years old and weigh 13.2 lbs. Foster Mom told me that I should update my bio and let all my adoring fans know a little more about me. Well, I've been busy this week. Last week, I got a fur-cut - don't I look dashing? Yesterday, I got fixed and got my toofers cleaned. They had to pull 2 of them, but that's OK cuz they did it when I was sleeping. (Can you believe the toofer fairy didn't even leave me a quarter under my pillow!?) Well, now I'm ready to be adopted and go live with you. Can you please fill out an application for me? Remember - Chico is my name and lovin' you is my game! FM says that maybe there's other stuff you might want to know. OK, so I don't bark much so far (she's heard me bark once and it was just a quick "woof"... I'm not really a talker, I guess). I am housetrained (I can hold it for a long time!). I walk pretty well on a leash. I don't really play with toys too much, but I think I could learn. I love-love-love other doggies. I'm not sure what to make of cats. I think I might want to chase the fun ones that hiss and run, though! I am a little nervous around big dogs, but so far so good. FM thinks I'd enjoy a playmate of similar size and weight, but I don't HAVE to have one. Well, what are you still reading for? Get on that application, silly!


ORIGINAL BIO 03-29-09: Hola Amigos - my name is Chico! I'm 3 y/o and weigh (a kinda chubby) 13.6# - I'm being fostered in Miami, FL. My owners loved me very much, but when they realized that their casa (that means "home", silly!) wasn't the best casa for me, they contacted United Yorkie Rescue and asked them to please find me a new one. Let's see....where do I begin? My owners rescued me a year and a half ago when I was found wandering the streets all by my lonesome (imagine that!). They already had two dogs and a cat, but they tried to make it work because they loved me. I just needed a little more attention than they could give me with all their other pets. I got possessive of toys and lap space. FM said that she would be 'working' with me on that - huh?? My previous owners think I would do better in a home with only one other submissive dog or as an only dog....FM hasn't had me long enough to determine that yet. It's only my first day with her, so we'll have to get back with you on that, 'kay?


I don't mind cats unless they hiss and take off running - then it's fun-fun-fun to chase them! I've never been around kids, so FM said that it would be best if I went to a home with older kids - like older than 12 y/o. I've shown FM that I am a little possessive of my treats; it's not that I want to eat them, but I just don't want HER to take them from me! I don't growl or bite but I pounce on my belongings like they're a loose football! I am housetrained and walk well on a leash. So far, I haven't barked much at all -hmmmmm? That may change............


Here's some more stuff that FM said.........Hi everyone - Chico is a super-sweet doll. He is getting groomed soon and will be ready for adoption as soon as he has a dental and neuter. (shh...don't tell Chico!) His tongue is always peeping out of his mouth, which is totally adorable. Please consider adopting this guy.....you'll be glad you did!
