Duck is a wonderful, stately, somewhat timid, reserved gentleman that enjoys a snuggle in your lap. He gets along wonderfully with all other creatures. He spent time in home with cats, ferrets, and other dogs, and was genial with all of them. Duck weighs 16 lbs and is so short, that his feet and legs have those wonderful Dachshund wrinkles! Duck is a gentle boy that was surrendered to us after his family left him unexpectedly and his housemate, Teal with a family member that had no means to care for him. The family member very kindly called us and asked for assistance; and what a wonderful pair of dogs they both are! He takes a small amount of time to warm up to new situations after being so harshly and unexpectedly thrown into two new environments in such a short time. He was given the name Duck after the Aflac commercial's star by his previous owner's young child. They are bonded and must be adopted together at this time. Duck rides well in a car, hops along great on a leash, and is crate trained and house trained. Duck would love to stick his long, pointy nose in your ear snuffle appreciatively at your leisure!
