My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joey likes both adult men and women. A person living or hiking alone would feel more secure with a large dog like Joey. He heels beside his caregiver on a loose lead and currently makes an excellent running partner or hiking companion on daily treks around Jordan Lake. Other dogs don't intimidate Joey. Even when other poorly mannered dogs walking on leashes through his neighborhood bark ferociously and lunge toward Joey and his handler, Joey ignores them, looks straight ahead, and continues his daily walk, like he's a dog on a mission. Giving Joey a purposeful job would keep this intelligent dog content. Solidly built, long-legged Joey knows the sit, wait, down, and come commands. He enjoys car rides. He doesn't jump fences. Joey has been neutered, vaccinated, vet checked, dewormed, microchipped, and takes heartworm prevention. A daily run with his caregiver provides adequate exercise for Joey. A fenced area for outdoor play is welcome, but not required for adoption. An invisible fence didn't work well at Joey's first home. Joey is crate trained and sleeps in a durable crate at night in his foster home. He has learned to ignore cats while on a leash at his foster home. Email petsavernc@bellsouth.net to adopt Joey. Two week trial with refund is offered for any Petsaver NC pet.
