My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady Mackenzie was surrendered to ARF on July 11, 2018 by an older couple wanting the best for her but knowing that they couldn't give it to her.  They thought she would be a calm little dog who would like to share their easy chairs, but Lady had more energy than they did.  She is cute as she can be and is 14 months old, so she still has puppy enthusiasm.  That being said, she is calm for a Jack Russel Terrier!  She is less than 10 pounds and such a cutie.  Unlike most of the dogs that are turned in to ARF, Lady is purebred.  She came with registration papers in Continental Kennel Club and National Kennel Club.  We're sure that is why she had not been spayed, but we see too many unwanted pets in the shelter setting not to spay and neuter our animals!  Lady was born on April 21, 2017.  She came with a list of dates on which she had been given shots, but there were no vet certificates or proof accompanying her.  Therefore, shots were given.  Lady Mackenzie was given a DHPP shot on 7/27/18.  She was sent to the clinic for her rescue on 8/7/18 when she received rabies, bordatella, and Nexgard. (Records in packet) Because Lady Mackenzie has been in heat, she will be spayed after she arrives at rescue. She spent a couple of mornings with a trainer learning some basic commands, but she and the trainer also played quite a bit.  On 7/19/18 a urine sample was taken to the clinic since she seemed to have to "go" quite a bit and she was started on an antibiotic on 7/20/18. She has finished her antibiotic and nearly through her heat cycle.  Isn't she a cutie?
