Well we can start with his name; his is a very tough guy. I had to name him Tuffy to help me remember he is a boy!!!! I am a poodle lover and own 2 poodles myself but over the years this is the first time I have referred to a poodle as a girl, he is just so cute.
His eyes are jet black marble and he weighs only 9 pounds. Tuffy will not get any bigger as he is an adult at 1 3/4 years old. The vet estimates his birth date to be 09/15/2013. His tail is docked so short it is barely there.
Tuffy gets along with all dogs, big and small; he is crate and house trained. He plays well with everyone, walks well on a leash and not demanding. He is not a barker unless the other fosters are wrestling then Tuffy feels the need to be the referee and barks to say who is winning or losing.
He is a great playmate for any dog and an equally good lapdog as an only dog. He really obeys very well, comes, sits, goes in his crate, and stays right by your side. He is not destructive and he really only wants love and he will do whatever you ask of him.
His coat is very curly, no shedding, he will need to be groomed every 6 weeks. I have shaved him down and watched his coat growth. He is jet black but his paws in the front are white and paws in the back are gray, very pretty and cuddly dog. He loves toys too.
I rescued Tuffy for a high-kill shelter in San Antonio. He had been picked up as a stray with a cast on his leg that had been broken. We thought for sure someone would be looking for him and I have had him advertised for months but no one has replied. He had been on the streets for months judging by the condition of his very matted and long coat and the condition of the split on his leg.
He has no medical issues, everything is healed and his medical records will come with him at the time of adoption.
