Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cas is a very sweet five-year-old, neutered boy! He has the wonderful qualities of a doberman that we know and love -- he is focused on his person, is affectionate, silly, sensitive and beautiful. For the most part, he is an easy keeper, mellow and just looking to hang out with his person and eat lots of food!
Cas will do well in either a city or country home, as long as he can take lots of walks. Cas LOVES walks and does well with a Gentle Leader. He is also so fun to walk because he enjoys meeting the passing people, dogs and bikes on the sidewalk. He enjoys walks rather than idle time in the yard. He does get very aroused around squirrels, rabbits and cats so he will need a forever home with no small animals.
He has done well meeting dogs on leash and through his foster family’s fence. He shows interest, is playful, but can be slightly pushy or forward. Cas would do well in a home with a mature, confident female dog but he would also do very well in a home as the only dog, so he can have your full attention.
Because Cas was a stray and malnourished for some time, he is very eager to eat and is protective of what he does find to eat, meaning items in the trash, food thawing on the counter or food dropped on the floor while preparing a meal. His forever home should be properly "puppy proofed" with trash cans secured and no food left out on counters.
Cas wants nothing more than to be with his person. If you are in the house, he gets frustrated if he is separated from you for long periods of time. He wants to be included in activities and supervise the chores. He is crate trained and often lays in his crate with the door open taking in the household sights.
If you are a person who loves walking for exercise, teaching Cas new tricks to keep his mind active, has time in the mornings and evenings to spend plenty of quality time with Cas and is looking for a very loving, loyal companion, Casanova would like you to fill out an application, so he can meet you.
