Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet CHAMP. Champ is a beautiful 8 year old sheltie boy that loves his people and is a great companion boy that will always be by your side. He is a bigger sheltie at 35 pounds and on the taller side, and is a typical sheltie and likes to talk and tell you what he is thinking. He has plenty of energy for an 8 year old and loves to play Frisbee, play with his ball and his toys. He is very respectful in his foster home and does not get up on any of the furniture but will sleep by your bedside at night. Champ knows all of his basic commands and listens very well to his people. Champ is very food motivated, which is great for training, but he can be a counter suffer, so attention will be needed keeping treats and food out of his reach. With his food motivation, we feel he would be best in a home as an only dog or a home that can monitor feeding time with other pups and we feel a NO cat home would be the best for Champ. Champ is also very sound reactive and likes to bark at the thunderstorms as if to ‘catch’ the thunder and give it a piece of his mind. He is perfectly house trained and makes up very quickly meeting new folks and loves his people. He walks well on the leash but will need a little more work and leash training to be perfect. With his food motivation, we feel Champ would be best in a home with no toddles or small children as he can steal some treats if given the opportunity and with his activity level and loving to run and play, he will need a secure physical fenced in yard for his safety. We will not approve electric / underground fencing. Champ is up to date on all of his vetting and vaccinations, has just had his dental, is neutered and is micro-chipped. All he needs is his forever loving home and we will be looking for a home that has Sheltie experience and understands the breed.
Champ will need a secure fenced in yard, NO EXCEPTIONS.
