This sweet and adorably cute pup has an amazing rescue story. She was a stray on our street who was afraid of everyone she met at first. For a year and a half we tried to gain her trust, feeding her, petting her, but she would never let us leash her. We spent many a rainy night worrying about this sweet girl. She was always very emaciated, always hungry, and timid. We were finally able to rescue her and since then she has never looked back. She has blossomed into a loving, loyal, and fun loving dog who just wants to be with her family. After 3 months in foster we think she is more than ready!
Lyanna is definitely a labrador, and has all the qualities of the breed. She loves the water, is loving of all people, even if she is a tad shy at first, and gets along well with most all animals. She is probably around 3 years of age. She is a healthy girl at around 50-55 lbs, so definitely a large dog. She loves being outdoors and bathing on the patio when the sun is out, and especially loves the water. Like most labs, she is usually throwing it everywhere, getting her head soaked, and enjoys the fun in the sun when it's allowed. On rainy days, she is definitely NOT a fan of water, and enjoys the comforts of the home life. She can be a bit shy when initially meeting someone new, but once you let her get to smell you, she warms up almost immediately. Lyanna definitely makes herself known and does a classic nose nudge in your leg or side, and will even put her head in your hands for attention and affection. She is so stingy with receiving attention that she will actually push her foster siblings to go away and keep it all for herself! A quick verbal correction usually causes her to roll her eyes and knock it off finally.
Lyanna also has 3 foster cat siblings as well, and she doesn't mind them at all. She never attempts to bother them, though they are all very rambunctious. Most times she just watches them. She has met a few children who were calm and quiet, so we are unsure if she would be startled by louder children, but due to her very mothering nature we feel she would bond quickly with children.
She is 100% crate trained, and enjoys resting and eating in her kennel. She doesn't mind the leash and has never struggled with learning how to walk or going places. She isn't a huge fan of the car rides since she has had limited experience with it, but she grows very attached to her people quickly, so we could see her loving to go on adventures! She is housebroken, but keep in mind she was an outdoor dog that rummaged through many a trash can. As long as we keep the lid on, she minds her manners. ;)
Lyanna is fully vaccinated meaning she has her Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP. She is current on monthly preventions spayed, and is microchipped. For more information on how to foster or adopt Lyanna, please contact us on our page or at MokasMission@Gmail.com!
