Here's what the humans have to say about me:
mona is showing you the amazing girl she truly is from her little photo session today!
We have posted her story several times in hopes to find the right home for her. Mona was abandoned at a boarding facility in November 2017 she has lived there since.
Her old body tells the story of a life time of abuse and neglect. A broken leg that was never treated has left this lady with a painful limp and a deformed paw. Mona's spine and hips are riddled with severe arthritis which requires daily medications to keep her comfy.
When x-rays were taken, pellets or bb's were found in Mona's chest and abdomen indicating that at some point, poor Mona was shot. It appears no care was ever sought for any of her numerous health problems; this poor dog was just left to suffer for years.
Fortunately, Mona is very loving and forgiving. These are wonderful qualities most dogs possess. She enjoys people, seeking out human attention whenever possible. Walks and cuddling are her favorite things. As a rescue we have decided to help her find a home and work on some training with her. Mona does not do well with other dogs and we have been working on her reactivity when she sees them and shes doing great. While we try to enrich her life as much as possible, a kennel is no place for this beautiful girl. The floors are very hard and Mona easily gets over stimulated by the boarding dogs walking by her run. The extra jumping is not good for her arthritis. Mona needs a home with a family who will love her; she enjoys resting most of the day but human attention is what Mona craves. She is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. She should be the only dog in the home. She is a good eater and will need her venison based food (we have plenty) as well as pain, allergy and anxiety medication (we have these meds as well). Please consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful girl. Please spread the word; Mona deserves a home! Please contact us if interested! We will provide the home with all of her things she needs for her health.
Will you give this senior girl a home?
