My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Misty's Silver Streak. 'Steel' ADVANCED RIDER ONLY

(Sam's Ransom - Misty's Finale)

1991 grey Thoroughbred gelding. 16.3 hands.

Steel has wonderful ground manners. He loves attention, and will warm you with his personality. Steel comes from a family of two horses. The younger rider's horse sustained an injury that will require an extended lay up, and Steel is more horse than she is ready for. They would like to find him a new home where his full potential will be realized.

Steel has great movement and smooth transitions. He changes leads flawlessly. He's 'finished' and quite talented. He's attractive and solid. Clean legs. That said, Steel is also a horse that needs an experienced rider. We had a USEF professional ride Steel earlier this month (May 07) and she said he's rusty, but well schooled to 2nd Level Dressage. She further said that with continued appropriate work, he would do extremely well competing. Steel needs someone who knows how to ride a challenging horse and who has a kind but firm approach to work...someone who is the authority figure, and can ride him at least three or four times a week.

Steel needs a structured work ethic to perform to his potential and perform with little complication. If Steel had a mindset for work equal to his physical ability, he wouldn't be in our program. He has not had the structured environment that he needs to maximize his potential. Steel is a great horse for the rider who has been schooling in Dressage for a number of years and wants to compete. Steel is currently being schooled in Level 1 Parelli by Christine Madoni of Pittsburgh. He is responding very well to Parelli training and we would encourage his new home to continue that work with him. Serious inquires with the appropriate background only, please.
