Emily is an adorable, independent little female ferret who has been diagnosed with an insulin secreting tumor of the pancreas known as an insulinoma. This condition causes her blood glucose (sugar) level to drop below normal. Insulinoma is a common condition of adult ferrets that is typically managed with long-term administration of oral medication or surgical removal of the pancreatic tumor. We are currently seeking financial sponsorship to help cover the costs of Emily's medical care and surgical removal of her insulinoma. For more information on Emily, nsulinoma in ferrets and on how you can help some of the special needs ferrets in our organization, please contact us at www.cpr-nc.org.
Adoption Fee: $75
Note: All ferrets adopted from Carolina Pet Rescue recieve a physical exam, intestinal parasite check, topical flea control, monthly heartworm prevention, vaccination against rabies and distemper, and a baseling blood glucose measurement prior to adoption.
