My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi from the hot state of Texas. I am glad I have a nice cool place to nap in during the day and to sleep at night. My name is Jacob and I will be 11 month old in August and I did not get a very good start in life, but look at me now. It is amazing what happens when you have plenty to eat and someone to make sure you get the care and attention you deserve, but never had. i was about 7 months old when I came to DFW collie Rescue and my foster said i looked like a 3 month old. Very malnourished, shy and timid. I am still apprehensive about strangers, especially men and bark at them to let them know i am protecting my territory. My mother was 1/2 rough collie and 1/2 German shepherd and my dad was a purebred rough collie so that means I am a quarter German shepherd. I guess that is where is get my big boy bark. It will take some patience and love with me, but I am ready to give you all my love. I am good with other dogs and need a female doggy playmate, I love to romp and play, but i settle down quietly. I do know how to use a doggy door so when I go inside I sit down and wait for a treat or dinner. I have no history with cats. Small children will probably scare me so teenage children would be better. I am attached to my female foster so a woman would be good for me and I need someone home most of the day. I have been working on leash training and I am getting pretty good at it. I am an excellent rider, partially house trained and crate trained. I am neutered, current on shots, on heartworm preventive and microchipped. The application and terms of adoption can be found at www.dfwcollierescue.org. Once your application is received a home visit will be scheduled and your personal references checked. There is an adoption fee and a small fee to register my microchip, but I am worth every dollar so fill out that app today!
