Howdy Pardner, DAWSON is my name. Like the name implies, I am a hardy soul looking for gold in them thar’ hills. Well, maybe that’s a bit of a stretch….. anyway, I am in need of a new family with a golden place in their hearts for me.

I am 8 years old, and I’ve been living with an absolutely wonderful lady. She saved me from a bad situation 4 years ago, and it’s been heaven living with her! To say the least, she has gone out of her way to make me feel comfortable and loved. But some things have changed for her and she needs to find me a new home.

I am a mellow boy, and I really enjoy my daily walks. I am well mannered, and even have enjoyed the dog park a time or two! I’m friendly to dogs of all sizes, but not to cats. Cats just make me uncomfortable, so I try to get rid of them, if you get my drift. I would do ok with older kids, since I am a large boy and could possibly knock over a little one. I love tummy rubs, and the treats my mom gives me. Sometimes I will dig to try and find a cool spot to lay in the yard. Maybe I’m gold mining? You never know!

One thing I will need to work on, I am not very fond of getting in a vehicle anymore. I need a little encouragement in that regard. With patient training, I’ll get back to where I like it. I take an inexpensive medicine for my thyroid every day - it helps me feel great. I am very friendly to all people and at times I think it’s important to carry on a conversation! I'd love to strike one up with you!

Dawson is a very sweet boy, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, micro-chipped and healthy. He is ready for a loving home; might you be the one looking for the gold mine?
