Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER UPDATE 11/5/18!! Diego is a super sweet, happy, handsome guy. He sleeps on his bed in our room at night and doesn’t make a peep until we get up. He has an adorable fascination with looking out the windows in our house. Squeaky toys are his absolute favorite. Right now he is obsessed with a toy hedgehog and carries it with him all over the house. He has a typical amount of energy for a dog his age. He loves to run and play in our neighborhood dog park. Diego gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playfully chasing them around. Almost like a doggy version of a game of tag. He walks pretty well on a leash and knows that he is only supposed to go potty outside (no accidents in the house at all). He also enjoys going for rides in the car and stole everyone’s heart during a recent trip to the pet supply store. He has the cutest ears you’ve ever seen and beautiful golden brown eyes. His coat is sleek and shiny and he doesn’t mind bath time one bit. He has mastered “sit” and “shake” (especially when a treat is involved) and we are working on other commands. Diego would love to meet you so come on out to our adoption event this Saturday!
UPDATE 9/10/18!! Diego is an absolute love bug. He is super sweet and super friendly. Oh and REALLY smart. We think he would make an excellent companion for anyone who wants an active dog that can learn quickly. He’s fast, loves to play fetch and chase his foster siblings around the yard. He's had to stay calm during his heartworm treatment, so it hasn't been fun for him, but he's been a great sport about it! Diego is house trained and crate trained. Not one accident or item chewed. He would be a wonderful addition to a family ready to love on this super sweet guy. Think about making Diego a part of your family today!!
Diego is almost done with his heartworm treatment! He will be getting his last injections this week! We're so ready for this boy to be done and free of those awful heartworms!

MEET DIEGO!! Diego is a handsome 2 year old lab mix who just came to LFS. He was found as a stray and ended up at the shelter where he unfortunately tested positive for heartworms, so we knew we needed to step in and save him in order for him to have a second chance. He has started treatment and is doing well so far. Diego is a super sweet, happy boy with a lot of personality. He’s loving and happy to cuddle. He is energetic as a young dog should be, but he will need to stay calm during his heartworm treatment. Once it is finished, he’ll be able to be just as active as any other dog. The people who found Diego said that he seemed to be housebroken and crate-trained, and he has done well with every other dog he’s met. He is a smart boy who knows “sit” already, and we think he would learn other commands quickly. Diego is an all around great boy who deserves a loving family.
