My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gretchen is such a perfect little lady!

Gretchen was a classic Los Angeles city shelter orphan, trapped on the streets and taken from her mother too soon.

When rescued by Project Runt, she was in holding with two other kittens of a similar age, Wesley and Ruby Rose. At only a couple weeks old, unable to eat solid food, they were lucky enough to be placed with a lactating mother. Slowly she accepted her odd-smelling new babies, allowing them to join the rest of her nursing litter. This is remarkable, as they were then able to receive the nutrients and immune support young kittens can only receive from a mother's milk. Eventually, Mama Greta even cleaned and cared for them as if they were her own. Mother of the year right there.

Gretchen is loving and playful, and has always been super sweet and affectionate! She also has great manners. She's a bit small for her age, but in perfect health. She enjoys rubbing her cheeks all over you, showing her gratitude and affection. She gets along with everyone, isn't especially competitive, but more laid back. The stripes in her fur make her look like a wildcat! But those traits only come out when she plays. She is silky smooth and soft. You won't even believe it until you pet her. She will enjoy every second.

Oh, and she desperately needs a loving family to call her own. Video of her jumping and playing is coming soon. Visit ProjectRunt.org for lots more pics!
