Bentley is a beautiful little 4-yr-old bichon/havanese mix. His (non-shedding) hair is so soft -- white with champagne colored ears and light spots of tan on his back. He was very matted when he came into the shelter so of course he got the usual shelter shave-down (we'll just call it his "summer" cut). He's pretty cute already, but he's going to be absolutely stunning as soon as his hair grows back! Bentley weighs about 14 lbs.
Bentley came into the shelter with a fractured pelvis. Usually the shelter is the last place a dog wants to be, but in Bentley's case it was a blessing in disguise. Bentley's heartless owners had neglected him and kept him outdoors. When he got lonely and found his way out of the yard, he got hit by a car. The shelter contacted his owners, but they never came for him. Luckily, the nice ladies at the shelter took very good care of him and now he's on the mend.
I just can't imagine how anyone could neglect this little angel -- Bentley is one of the sweetest and most beautiful pups I've seen. And so brave too -- he let the vet examine him and x-ray him and he never complained. The vet says his injury will heal without surgery as long as his activities are restricted for a few more weeks. That'll be easier said than done! He's in good spirits and he really wants to run and play with the other dogs (which he can't do right now).
Bentley is quiet and well-behaved, and he has a waggy tail for everyone he meets! He gets along great with other dogs, and he even loves the kitties!
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked, microchipped, groomed, de-wormed, de-flea'd, and come with a collar, leash, and ID tag.
