My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's more than her rare color combination, a black nose on a white face that makes Missy special. Project Runt took in Missy and her three sisters from the Los Angeles city animal control shelter on May 5th, 2018. At the time, they were barely old enough to be away from their mother. Feral and wild as can be, I picked them up straight from the metal trap they were caught in. Once at home, it definitely took some adjusting time for the sisters to become comfortable.

Their first two days were spent fearfully lodging themselves in the bottom of a pedestal sink, hissing and spitting when anyone came near. After a few weeks and a lot of forced love, Missy's sisters quickly became incredibly affectionate and fearless. While Missy purrs endlessly when petted, and enjoys being held when she's sleepy, at times she still gets spooked when approached. She will hide under the bed, but oddly enough, within seconds, she will come out again, curiously watching you. Watching Missy learn to trust has been so remarkable, and I have to say, if i had another week or two with her, I'm sure she would be just as outgoing as her sisters.

If you have the patience to work with Missy a bit and gain her trust, she will love you for life. I've debated only adopting her out along with one of her sisters, Paloma or Sophia, but if you already have another pet she may get along with, either option could help her feel stable.
