My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BUDDY BOY (TENNESSEE)
Buddy Boy is an adorable 2-year-old, 11-pound Yorkie boy being fostered in Murfreesboro, TN.
Buddy Boy has been in his foster home for a couple of weeks now and we have a better feel for his needs. Buddy is a very sweet dog who loves to play HARD! He is very much still a puppy and he is full of youthful energy and vigor. Unfortunately for Buddy, his former owners did not give him the proper guidance so Buddy has never really had a “pack leader” other than himself until now. He is just now, at age two learning what “No” means and how to be a canine “good citizen.” There is not a mean bone in this boy’s body……he just needs to learn. So he is working on learning what it means to be a well-mannered Yorkie in his foster home. This means he is un-learning a few habits that were not addressed in his puppyhood like “It’s not okay to jump on people and play nibble on their hands even if you REALLY want them to play with you!” Slowly Buddy is learning that life is better with a few ground rules. Buddy needs a human who has patience and time to reinforce his learning and keep up his training with consistency until it becomes habit. We think Buddy’s ideal home would be one where his person is home a lot to work with him. Older kids age 10 and over would be good expecially if they are active because Buddy has a TON of energy that needs an outlet. An active adult who likes to go for frequent walks and a fenced in back yard would also be a plus. Buddy loves to sleep with his person and when he isn’t being his wild puppy self he loves to snuggle and get pets and belly rubs. He loves playing with his foster brother but Buddy is much younger and plays rougher than his fur-sibling so another dog that is Buddy’s size and age might be a great match for both of them. A senior dog would probably be annoyed by his playfulness. Buddy’s biggest need is for an owner who is patient and committed to his continued learning and training so that he can become the PAWFECT PUP he was meant to be.
