My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I am Austin. I am 4 yrs. old dachshund mix and have been stuck in the shelter for the past three weeks, I lost my family somehow and got hit by a car before I ended up in the shelter, but my legs are healing well and I am happy I'll still be able to run and play. I like everyone annam very friendly with people and other dogs, though I am not sure how I feel about cats since I haven't had a chance to interact with any yet.

I am so grateful to Tiffani, the big hearted Outreach Coordinator at North Central, who reached out to her friends at Bark Avenue Foundation to get me out of the shelter and into a foster home. She said soon there would be loud explosions everywhere and even more animals coming into the crowded space we were all in, so it was important to get as many of us out as possible. And Mario at the shelter went above and beyond to help me out - he's awesome.

My foster mom is amazing and is taking such great care of me. I feel so loved and safe but I know this is a temporary situation and she can't keep me in her home until my forever family finds me. Is that you?

I'm only 12lbs. so I don't take up much room and I'd love to be your travel buddy. I'm up-to-date on all vaccines and vet care, and am already neutered and housebroken. I am ready to shower snuggles and kisses upon my human soulmate and would love to meet you.
