! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!***
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet.
Iris 2 years old Golden retriever & German wire haired pointer mix possibly, 63.2 lbs.
When you look at Iris & meet her you cannot believe she almost lost her life in Korea, Iris is nothing but a big love & so calm
& loving. Again how could anyone hurt or kill Iris, unfortunately that was going to be her fate in a horrible kill shelter in Korea until the rescue we work with asked could we take her.
Iris was rescued before she lost her life & the Korean rescue asked could we take her, we said we would & Iris went to a foster home in Korea. The story did not end there, it was delay upon delay trying to get this sweet girl brought back to the USA but she is now a US citizen.
Iris once she knows you is so affectionate & will stand up on her hind legs & hug you just like a person, she is extremely loving & very affectionate & enjoys cuddling with people. She is such a big love bug. Iris does well with other big dogs & people & does well on a leash. Iris does well around cats & goats but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children. She has been around respectful teenagers & she loved them & they loved her. Iris does not do well With small dogs or big dogswho have big personalities so we suggest dogs who are playful & loving but calm in her new home.
Iris would even do well being an only dog also.
Iris is perhaps a Golden retriever & German wire haired pointer mix, she is 63.2 lbs & is spayed, she is chipped, up to date on her shots, heart worm negative, has been dewormed & looking for her loving forever family.
As with all of our rescues & Iris’s friends she will need work on her potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Iris & going through the process and have read her listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview, and a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Iris that meet all the requirements for this little sweet lady.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Iris has an adoption fee of $550 & is ready for her forever home.
**IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ**
An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well.
As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves.
Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding.
