My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome fella is Smokey. Smokey came to us in horrible condition. He weighed more than twice what he should and his weight was making it almost impossible for him to walk. Well, after a few months on a strict diet, the weight is slowing coming off and Smokey is gaining more energy every day! Now it's time for this special guy to find that special family who will love him forever!

Smokey is about eight years old. We aren't sure of his breed, but believe he may have some Husky or Elkhound in there somewhere. He is a short guy though! He is presently down to a sexy 92 pounds, but he's working on shaving off a bit more! He is house trained, and gets along just fine with other dogs. He would be best in a home with calmer dogs since he isn't quite up to rough play just yet. He's a super chill guy who just loves being able to lounge around and get lots of love from his human. He might not be the best dog for a super active family, but he sure would be an awesome companion for a calmer family looking for a dog they can snuggle up with in front of the television or in front of the fireplace on a cooler evening!

Smokey presently lives in a foster home with a young boy and does great with him. If his new home has younger children, they will need to understand that Smokey is an older guy and he doesn't have the energy or spunk of a young dog.

Smokey's adoption fee is $200. This includes his deworming, dhpp and rabies vaccines, flea and tick preventive through date of adoption, Heartguard through date of adoption, neuter, and microchip.
