Kiley has been with us a while now and is looking for a very special adopter. Kiley is 6 months old, 7 lbs, and feral. Kiley has come a long way since coming into our care, but she still has alot of confidence to grow and trust to gain. Kiley was likely not touched by people before coming to us. She is afraid of humans touching her and will always run and hide if she thinks you are coming for her. She has grown to trust her foster mom and will not bite her foster mon but I could see her trying to bite a stranger if they tried to pick her up. So no small children or noisy kids in her new home. Kiley likes routine and that's that are familiar. At home Kiley runs around with her dog friends and is as happy as can be. Outside of the house she is frozen and terrified of everything. Kiley is a super smart girl. She figured out potty pads and the doggy door in the first few days in her foster home. Kiley learns from watching her dog friends do things. Kiley is also a kleptomaniac. She takes everything the finds to her safe spot. I regularly find all the toys, dropped socks, the occasional shoe, and anything else that is missing in her bed. It is required that there be resident dogs in Kiley's future home. Its hard to say what Kiley's future looks like. Tomorrow she may decide she likes people, it may take a few years, or she may never be able to fully trust people. What we do know is that Kiley deserves a forever home and the chance to be loved. She will require a little extra work but it is going to be worth it. Kiley is always happy to see her foster mom when she comes home. She runs up to say hi to her foster mom while still keeping a safe distance. She also walks past her foster mom and gets closer every day. If you think you have what it takes to help Kiley come out of her shell apply to adopt her at www.texaschihuahuarescue.com
Kiley can travel for the right home.
(Kiley is not leash trained and being on a leash is very scary for her. She tries to run and ends up flopping at the end of the leash trying to get away from you. This is not a safe scenario for Kiley. Homes with fenced yards are preferred for Kiley's safety.)
Texas Chihuahua Rescue is based in San Antonio, Texas. All of our adoptable dogs are located in the San Antonio area. Additional photos and videos will be made available to potential adopters upon approval of our online adoption application.
