Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Bichon Frise aficionados
Hi Bichon Frise aficionados
• My name is Jerome. My birthday is October 26, 2016. I weigh 21#. I am on the “big” side for my breed, but I am 100% Bichon Frise and have the Wisdom Panel certificate to prove it.
• I like the company of other well-mannered dogs. I am not an “alpha” dog. I NEED to have another friendly dog in my new home to teach me the house rules and be a dog-company for me.
• I tend to be shy when around new people or in a new environment. I was never socialized until I was 18 months old. I am not the kind of dog who will rush up to new people and be affectionate. New people have to earn my trust and companionship.
• I like being around dog-savvy cats and occasional will groom them. They like the texture of my curly coat and like rubbing on me.
• I like sleeping close to my humans on their bed. I sleep on top of the covers and feel most at ease if a part of my body is up against a human leg or back.
• I like relaxing with my humans on sofa.
• I like to go for car rides. I get anxious if I am left alone in a car even briefly on a cool day. If you can’t take me with you everywhere you go, then leave me home in a crate. If left unsupervised in the house, I may get in to mischief due to my anxiety of abandonment.
• I like playing in my wading pool when the weather is hot. I don’t mind going outside in the rain or snow.
• My skills with walking on a halter and leash are a bit rusty, but with your patience and working with me, I will be an expert. I would benefit greatly from formal dog training classes with my new humans.
• As you know my breed bonds strongly to our humans. I naturally have become bonded to my foster family. When you adopt me, please be patient with me and allow me time to bond to you. I am a quick learner once I know what is expected of me.
• I had my teeth cleaned in January 2019. I am neutered, current on core vaccines and have a HomeAgain microchip. I need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. I come with a nearly new black wire crate and foam pad, leash/collar/halter, toys and toy box, coat, sweater and wading pool.
• If you want to adopt me, you have 2 weeks to test drive me. My adoption fee is $250.
• A securely fenced yard of appropriate size for potty and play is required.
• Applicants must live within one hour’s driving time of Auburn, CA
• I am not the kind of dog to leave alone in the yard while adults are at work and children are at school.
• Preference will be given to applicants with previous Bichon experience. https://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/bichonfrise.html
