Some of our pets are in FOSTER HOMES, some are in Petsmart in WASHINGTON or MONROEVILLE, and some at the SHELTER. Please include all specific questions about the pet in the cover of your fax. This process will ensure that your place is held in the adoption process as we may not be able to answer email inquiries in a timely manner. IF no number is listed in the pets' desription, please fax DOG applications to 724-627.4160 and CAT applications to 610.819.0335. The shelter cannot answer questions about the pet's placed in foster homes and the foster homes will not have much information on the pets at the shelter. We request that you please do not call the shelter on inquiries as we are not staffed to handle volumes of calls.

1/25/09 Cubbie and Aurora are beautiful calico ladies. The are exceptionally well mannered and polite. They are very small adults. They are serious LAP CATS. Their owner was no longer able to care for them, so we are hoping to find them a wonderful caring home. They were very well cared for. They are both about 4 years of age but look much younger. We would love to keep them together if possible but it is NOT necessary. They would do well with any cat or even as an only cat. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SHELTER!!
My name is Aurora and I guess you are looking at this about me because my best friend 'Cubbie' sent you here. Right? That makes me very happy and I know I will steal your heart by the time I finish telling you about me. So I will put my best 'paws' forward and get this going.
I am a domestic short haired cat. I am very petite and walk very much like a lady. My mommie always said I was s special cat because I was her first one, she said I am so sweet. I started my life as a little kitten of a few weeks in a shelter and everyone passed me by, until I was 1yr old and my former mommie adopted me and kept me for 4 yrs, but then had to give me up because she had to move where they didn't allow any pets. So, along came my foster mommie Laura, who I am living with just until I find a good, loving permanent home.
My playtime is with my best friend 'Cubbie' we love the laser light and the flashlight. Mommie would run it up the wall and I would have fun chasing it. Cubbie really would just sit there and wait for it to come to her. I love my best friend alot.
I hope you have scatter rugs in your house, cause hiding under them is fun too. I love that game of hide and seek under the rugs and you and me can play it together.
Cat greenies are a treat that I really like, but not everyday cause sometimes my tummy doesn't get happy if I eat to many.
My best friend and I love to perch on the window and check out things like, the deer in the yard, birds and all the pretty flowers blowing in the breeze. I have alot of time to watch cause I am very patient as most cats are.
Do you love me yet? I hope so, cause I know we would make a good pair for each other. The word I like alot is 'please' because everything my mommie taught me was with that word. My best friend and I have alot of manners and we listen very well.
I like my picture taken but, not as much as my best friend. But, I will pose if you would like me to. Check out my pictures on this website and see for yourself.

But, there MIGHT be just one catch!! Can you think about adopting my best friend with me too? We would really love to stay together.

We love our rescues and we take great care in finding the right pet for your home and the right home for our pets. Our adoption process may take several BUSINESS days as we must verify several EXTREMELY IMPORTANT bits of information: vet references , home ownership or landlord's permission to have pets, employment, and other personal references. Once these are verified we will contact you for a phone interview with the foster parent (if possible) or the shelter director. We understand this may be a little intrusive but unfortunately it is necessary as we see many cases of abuse and neglect. We hope you will understand that this process means we really care about our pets and aren't looking to just place them in any home and that our process is meant only to ensure that the pets will have a stable environment with a family that can meet standards of care. Most of them have come from homes that did not, so we cannot risk putting them into the wrong home. We also hope you will understand that we may not approve you for the pet you applied for, but might recommend a better fit for your home and lifestyle. For example, if you have young children we may not recommend herding dogs or kittens. Or if you are a senior citizen, we may recommend an adult dog or cat that will be less likely to get underfoot. There are many factors to be considered in finding the right pet and we do our best to cover all of them. Please be certain to completely fill out the application as incomplete applications may be delayed or not processed. All vet information is pertinent, so please include names and phones numbers and give them a call in advance to allow them to speak with us. Thank you for your patience and we will try to process your application as soon as possible. We want our pets in the new fur-ever homes ASAP!
