Bocelli is a 6 year old grey - Russian Blue-like - cat waiting for a special home. in 2017 he was hit by a car and suffered major head trauma. After a week in the hospital and surgery to repair a broken jaw, he still couldn't see because of the degree of damage to his eyes - and his family decided they couldn't deal with a blind cat. Feeling bad for him - because he had struggled through a week of hospitalization and the worst of his trauma and after that, his family wanted to give up on him, we offered to take him in and his family readily agreed.

Ultimately, he recovered from his head trauma, his broken jaw was fixed, several broken teeth were extracted, and when his blind eyes then developed cataracts from the trauma, they were removed. He really shouldn't have any further issues from his trauma - but will obviously never see again. Between the head trauma and the acute loss of vision, it took him a few months to really acclimate to being blind, but now he gets around amazingly normally despite being blind.

He's a sweet boy - enjoys attention and periodic lap time and is a good companion. He tolerates other cats and dogs as long as they give him a little personal space. Being blind, he really does need to be indoor only for his own safety.
