Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Adopted: This nice boy has gone to his new home and is adjusting well.
No Phone calls, please fill out an application to be approved. This nice cocker boy has had both ACL surgeries done to his back legs. He is weak and shaky when walking and just needs some recovery time to heal and get stronger before he can be adopted out.
My name is Dumpster. I am a black n white cocker spaniel boy about 6 years old. I am an owner surrender to rescue because I hurt my back leg and their vet said I needed ACL surgery. When they found out the cost, my owners told them they couldn't afford my care and took me home. This nice elderly couple had me for 5 years. I was about a year old when they found me abandoned at a trash dump covered in fecal and urine, just outside of a dumpster that was sitting on the site. That's how I got my name. They took me home because they felt bad that my owners had taken off and just left me to fend for myself. Life with these folks was good and I had a nice home. When my elderly owners contacted this rescue for help to take me in, I was really sad because I thought they loved me. These rescue folks actually gave them several options to consider but a few days later my family called again. These rescue folks have given me a 2nd chance.
I am heartworm negative and a sweet, timid, shy cocker boy. On my initial visit to the rescue vet, I was evaluated and they found that I could hardly walk. Turns out, this ACL issue that happened to my one rear leg actually happened in February of this year and I never got vet care. These folks also learned that my left rear leg needed ACL surgery too from an old injury so surgery for both rear legs has now been done. My surgeries were costly, but now I have a chance to have a home again. I am shaky and a bit unstable as I recover from both surgeries so it will take some time for me to get stronger. I need a calm home environment and I am looking for a forever home with someone who will love me for the wonderful guy that I am. Don't overlook me, with a few weeks of recovery time I hope to be strong enough to be adopted out. I will be a nice companion for you to love and I would enjoy spending quality time with you as your indoor companion.
My adoption fee is: $350.
If you are interested in adopting this nice cocker boy, please send an email to: larrydonnacarp@aol.com for an adoption application. He is on recovery time right now and can be adopted to a home as soon as we feel his back legs are strong enough. He is shaky right now but is slowly making progress daily after two critical ACL surgeries that needed to be done to help him live a great rest of his life.
