Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Portia, (POR sha) DSH Spayed Black Female, vaccines current, Est DOB 2-2017 SPECIAL NEEDS
Portia is looking for a home where no one minds if she walks crooked and can’t jump very high. She’s been through a lot and she needs a home where she will be protected and get the love she so deserves. She can walk, does ok on the hardwood floors and can stand on her hind legs to reach up. She even jumps up onto cat trees and beds. This girl is a miracle.
Portia was hit by a car in late February 2018. Rescued and taken to vets in Conover NC (Conover Vets) it was discovered that she had a broken pelvis, shattered is perhaps a better word. It was discovered 8 weeks later that she was almost full term pregnant with one surviving kitten. Her kitten was delivered during spay (and has survived). Now Portia has reached the stage where she wants to be out and about.
She’s a very sweet easy going girl who likes to lay around and get attention. She seems to do well with the other cats in the house. She loves laying around and watching the more mobile kitties. She’s particularly fond of laying on a pillow near a window so she can watch the birds and squirrels. Mostly she loves being around people and will follow you all over the house with her crooked gait. She’s a small girl who loves to be petted and loved on. She’s playful and outgoing. She’s also very vocal and lets you know her opinion and when she needs something.
If you are interested in adopting Portia, the first step is to fill out an adoption form which can be found here and email it to partnersforcats@gmail.com
Portia lives in the So. Mtns. State Park area with Jean as her caregiver. If you are interested in adopting her, fill out and submit the application and Jean will call you to discuss your bringing Portia into your home.
Partners for Cats does not currently charge an adoption fee. We feel this is a better way of finding more homes for more kitties. However, we operate on Donations, with no other income. If you take a kitty from us, and can afford to, we would appreciate your making a donation to help defray the cost of vetting these beautiful kitties. We will never ask you for Money when we turn a cat/kitten over to you.
