Hey There! My name is Pretzel.
It’s a silly name, I know, but when I came into the shelter, I was kinda tied up in knots and was unable to walk. No-one knows exactly what happened, but since I was rescued by BARC I’ve seen a chiropractor and had microcurrent treatment, and now I’m romping with my doggy friends and you’d never know that just month’s ago I was unable to use my back legs at all.
I am in a wonderful foster home right now, and learning what love is and how to overcome my timid nature. I am doing so darn awesome. Now I am ready to show everyone how handsome and athletic I have become! I am a very smart boy and enjoy cuddling up on the couch with my people. I am the type of doggy who loves to play like a puppy, but also knows when it’s time to settle down. I am extremely shy at first, but once I become comfortable in a home with my people, I will never leave your side, I promise!
I have a hard time opening up because of my past, but I am slowly learning that the sky is not falling. I trust that my foster peeps won’t let me get hurt, and I’m learning to face my fears. I am also learning how to act like a grown up, so I am working on house training which I am doing fantastic on, and I am crate trained as well! Everyone I meet falls in love with me because I am just so darn cute and super, duper sweet!
I need a family who will take things slow with me and is willing to help me overcome my fears and shyness. I love other doggies and once I am warmed up, I am a bundle of fun and a whole different dog. Obedience class is a must for me so I can get to meet lots of new people and dogs in a controlled setting. It will also be a great bonding experience for us!
I have a typical puppy personality and would love to have a home with other dogs to play with and who can show me the ropes. I promise that I will love you forever. I will never let you regret bringing me home to spend the rest of my days with you!
