My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I'm Rigley, a 2 yr old Aussie blend and I think you need me in your life. I mean who wouldn't'? I'm fun, I like to play, of course I'm cute (but you can see that for yourself), I like other dogs and foster mom says I'm sweet and affectionate. Somebody didn't want me from my prior life and I just don't know why. I moved into my foster mom's house like I'd always lived there. She says I'm full of joy and fun and bring positive energy to the house (whatever that is, I think she must do yoga). My foster house has friends for me. There's an older dog who doesn't get around too well, so I play very gently with him. Then there are these puppies, whew they wear me out but we all have a good time! I was at a shelter for a while where I was really lonely. My only friend there was a cat. I'm brushing up on my house manners but I'm house trained and crate trained and am working on waiting to be let out of my crate instead of blasting out like from a cannon! What? I have places to go and people to see, for Pete's sake!
Before I got to the shelter I was on my own for a while. Food was hard to find, so even now, I protect it because I'm still afraid I won't have another dinner. Foster mom is convincing me it's ok, but at least at first I'll need to be fed away from any other dogs. Did I mention I love to play? Well I do. And I'm really enthusiastic about it too! Sometimes I play with my mouth (I don't bite down, I just didn't know I shouldn't) so until I learn that, I might be better in a house with older kids. I love people. I've never met a stranger. When we went to the vet yesterday I thought the vet was my long lost friend! OH BOY!!
Now for my one little problem. They use big words, 'congenital malformation' but that just means I was born with these really cool legs that turn out in the back, making me look like a ballet dancer. The doctors say someday I will probably have arthritis, but for now, I'm good and I can play fetch and Frisbee with the best of 'em. I take Glucosamine like my foster mom to help my joints and my legs look kind of stiff when I run. You'll find out when you see me from the back when I pass you, slow poke. So what kind of family am I looking for? My ideal family will love to play. I'm not looking to be a 10-mile a day hiker, but walks around town, playing in the back yard, that's my idea of exercise. I enjoy other dogs and like to play with them or rest near them. I'll need my people to remind me of the household rules, not a big deal but hey, I'm a teenager! I promise I'll make you an awesome best friend. Think of all the adventures we can have together. Want to meet me? I'll be accepting adoption applications very soon! Love, Rigley
