Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Available for adoption to NW Indiana/Chicagoland only.
-No apartments (he has a loud bark).
-Needs a playful canine friend (preferably female).
-High energy, must have a fenced in yard.
-Dislikes strangers and will bite if approached.
Sweet Ned is a 1.5 year old 26-pound Cockapoo who isn't friendly with new people. He needs a little time to warm up, not much time, but this trait makes Ned need a dog savvy family who can work with that. We feel like he's unexposed to the world.
Ned is incredibly loving, affectionate, and clingy to his people. He's also playful and loves his toys and other dogs. Ned needs a dog savvy family who understands dogs well and are willing to let him come to you. Once he knows you he's all love and kisses. Ned wouldn't be a good fit for most families with children because he's not good with strangers, so friends of the children/houseguests would risk being nipped. This may change with time but it's how he is for now.
Ned needs a fenced in yard, a family committed to daily walks and play, and lots of loving and attention. He would really love a small-medium young female dog to play with. He is not a good fit for an apartment because he does bark some at outdoor stimuli. If you're interested in giving Ned the home he deserves please apply!
Ned is neutered and up-to-dates on vaccines. He recently had a negative heart-worm and fecal test, was examined by our vet, and is micro-chipped. He's being groomed this week.
Ned's adoption fee is $250, this helps cover some of the cost of his vetting and care, as well as the lower adoption fees of our senior and special needs dogs we often help.
The first step to adopt Ned is to read all about adoption with Happy Tails Rescue Inc. and fill out an application. If we think your home sounds like a match we'll be in touch. Copy this link to go to our web site: www.happytailsrescueinc.org/adoption-available-dogs

Happy Tails Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based rescue based in Northwest Indiana. We have no shelter, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until their forever home match is found. All of our animals are fully vetted before adoption, including distemper, rabies, and bordatella vaccines, a heartworm test, fecal test, microchip, and are spayed/neutered. If you're interested in meeting one of our animals please fill out an application first. If approved we will then arrange a meet and greet. Happy Tails does not do same day adoptions because we do a short home visit to make sure our animals are being placed in safe environments.
