Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Groot is a Take Me Home courtesy post. Groot is not affiliated with Take Me Home. He is not under our care. Take Me Home is not responsible for any adoptions through private parties. If you think you can provide Groot with the love, training, and support he needs, please contact Claudia (323) 428-8633 claudiagoodman03@gmail.com.
Groot is a 10-12 month old, lovable goofball who loves to chase and pounce on balls, chew on chew toys, destroy stuffed animals, go on car rides and snuggle next to you. He watches TV and barks at animals on the screen, then tries to find them, behind the TV.
He's really good on a leash, crate trained, doesn't bark much and a quick learner.
Groot was found on the streets in January of this year when he was, approx, 6-8 months old. He was really underweight, terrified and filthy. It was obvious he had never been an inside dog as he had no idea how to be inside. It was, also, obvious he had been abused and is deathly afraid of hoses.
He has come a long way; house trained, learning commands, crate trained and much better mannered.
He is good with kids and adults and has never shown any aggression towards people.
We wanted to keep him, as he is such a love bug and we fell in love with his kissable face, wiggle butt, and sweet personality, but he is not getting along with our other big dog. They have had a few incidents and, now, need to be kept separated. He, also, has a strong prey drive and likes to chase our cats and jump around our small dogs, which is terrifying them.
He will make the perfect dog for someone who wants a best friend to take with them everywhere, explore the outdoors with, cuddle with while reading, watching tv or taking a nap.
He's an amazing dog!
He is neutered, microchipped and has dog health insurance, which means no waiting period for transferring.
Groot needs to be an only dog, no cats.
This is hard for us, be we have to do what's best for him.
