Approved adopter can pick up in Redding or Mount Shasta area
Skye is such a happy and outgoing boy
and very food motivatedââ so can easily be trained if you want further training
he does know his basic commands but will need someone that is going to keep working with him
he jumped into my truck very easily and was ready to go
loved loved the attention
of course is super smart
he's tallish and the perfect weight
his energy level is about a 7 out of a 10
a daily walk or two and/or some fun time in a big yardâ playing fetch
weekend hikes in nature, lakes etcâ
Sky has really soft fur almost feels like hair
when he sheds he blows his coat like a husky does
so a furminator brush comes in very handyââââ
Skye adores people and attention he's very happy and outgoing and ready to go and do some fun activity
but also happy to hang out on the couch with youâ
â He is good with dogs, however better with female dogs but I would not say a dog park type dog
has never been to one
on his hike on a very busy Saturday while the Rodeo was goingâ
he had fun in the river see pics and videos
his first water experience with us
at the second water area he totally loved it
he ignored any dogs walking by or bikes strollers etc
no barking nor lunching
he was totally into enjoying life and being out doing something funââââââ
He would enjoy a semi active home either in the country or quiet neighbor hood
â
â Skye likes to collect all his toys, bones, Kongs together in “his spot” yes he's a collector
â He loves to snuggle once he's comfy and be by your side but not a needy dog
â
He lives with several rescue dogs in the foster home
â he prefers to be the center of attention as the only dog unless there's the right female dog with the right energy
and a experienced humanâ
â
â He has more familiarity with women, but likely will bond with a man as well as long it's a couple at home of a man and a women
not just a guys dogâ
he has lived with mainly a women for the past year or so
on his walk he was not skittish but confidant and seemed to walk towards some menâ
he never showed any aggression towards anyone but has not been around kids
with us and we don't know all of his pastââ
âââ
The ideal home will have someone who works from home or is semi-retired and able to give Skye the love and attention he so deserves.
â He will reward you many times over with love, affection, comfort and loyalty.
He will thrive also as a single dog, as he is very people-focused,
as a great best companion
â He does play with a 4 year old female Border Collie at his foster home
He sleeps on the couch and loves that would like a similar sleeping arrangement but not a must
a super comfy dig bed for a large dog is fine tooâ
