Remington has had a rough start in life but he is full of love and ready to settle in with a forever family!
Remington was picked up off the street with a gunshot wound to his back right leg. A vet visit showed he was lucky, it missed all bones and his sciatic nerve! However the X-ray also revealed his left hip had an old injury that was never addressed and he does favor that leg from time to time. He currently takes fish oil supplements and glucosamine to help his joints and he may need a little extra TLC as he ages to help with possible arthritis.
During his recovery period his foster family noticed a hard lump on his chest. When Remington went back to be neutered 2 weeks after his initial visit, the vet was able to remove the lump from his chest... it was the bullet! An animal cruelty case was opened but no suspects have been identified. Despite all these hardships he is still a loving, happy boy.
Remington is very sweet and he LOVES his family. He wants nothing more to follow you around the backyard or laying at your feet chewing on a toy while you watch TV. He loves kids too! Remington is a people person, he’s not fond of other animals. He will not be a dog that needs a friend or needs to visit a dog park. He will be perfectly happy hanging out with his people. On walks he can be nervous meeting new people and he will bark at most dogs on a leash. But given time to smell and investigate, he is quick to make people friends or move on. Remington is a sweet, loving dog who has had a rough start and just wants a chance to love his forever family.
