Hi out there, I just wanted to give everyone an update on my forever home search. Sadly, I must report that I am still residing at the shelter :( Still waiting for that special family to invite me into their home. My name is Freddie and I am 10 years old. I know it is hard to believe but I have lived my entire life here at the shelter. I am a hound mix and about 60 lbs. Not one thing wrong with this guy though. I am healthy as a horse and still have lots of steam to burn off. If I had been a little less fun loving and active as a pup, they say that I would have been adopted a decade ago but I was quite the ball of fire. Loved to play,play, play and I guess no family could keep up with me. But the years have slowed me down a little and I am now still lively and happy but more mellow and I would love to finally have a real home to call my own. I do get along with other dogs, not sure about the felines, maybe a little too excited when I get around them! I walk well on a leash, LOVE my stuffed toys, even walk with them in my mouth if I can sneak one out of the kennel when they are busy with my collar and not looking! I am also happy to sleep in the sun or the yard and just relax. My best home will be in Florida, because I live in Miami and everyone in the shelter wants to be able to meet my new family before I go.
