Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATED BIO 3/14/2009: Minnie is 5 y/o and currently weighs 5.11#; she is being fostered in Miami, FL.
Minnie wanted everyone to know how she's doing since coming into UYR.....Foster Mom says she is such a sweetie-pie. She gets along just fine with other dogs and cats as well. She is housetrained to go outside and to go on wee-wee pads as well. She walks well on a leash and doesn't bark much at all (she is truly the perfect dog). In addition, she fits in any dog carrier (you can take her with you pretty much anywhere) and she truly is 'just perfect'. Minnie is most-likely a mix of some sort, possibly Chihuahua/yorkie (Chorkie) or Australian Terrier/Yorkie(Aus-orkie??),but she is just adorable no matter what mix. Minnie has slightly coarser hair than most pure-bred Yorkies and it does shed a very very very tiny bit. It's almost not worth mentioning.
We also solved another mystery about sweet Minnie. When Minnie arrived, the base of her teats were very enlarged which was cause for concern. It turns out, Minnie was still lactating. This poor girl was dumped at a shelter once she had her puppies. How sad!! Her owner was no longer interested in Minnie since they had puppies they could most likely sell for money. Minnie has been altered and will soon have a dental, so her teeth will be pearly white again. She is a little doll and deserves to find a FURever family where she will never be homeless again.
ORIGINAL BIO 2/27/2009: Hi there - my name is Minnie....I'm the newest little girlie here in South Florida. My name says it all....I'm 5 y/o and weigh 5lb 5oz - that's a lotta 5's!. Foster Mom said I would be healthier if I weighed a little bit more, about 6#. I'm cute as a button. Foster Mom said I may be a purebred yorkie, a yorkie mix, or a poorly-bred yorkie - she says it really doesn't matter sindce I'm the cutest little girlie she's ever seen!
Here's my story.....my owner didn't want me anymore - so, I was dumped at a high-kill shelter. Lucky for me, FM noticed me and decided that UYR could find me the bestest home ever where nobody would ever dump me in a lonely ole shelter ever again. I'm showing her how grateful I am by giving her lots of gentle kisses. I'm very friendly but a little shy, and I'm getting along with the THREE other furkids in the home. FM says it looks like I want to play, but she's not sure if I've ever been given toys before. I get so excited when she gives me a treat. I do a little dance in circles for her to show her how happy I am to be free! As soon as we got home, Foster Mom gave me some special high-calorie food and I gobbled it all up! Then I got a bath. I am sending you my picture in my pretty dress so that maybe you'll read my story and want to take me home with you so I can dance for you. More updates to come once FM gets to know me better. TTYL!
