Here's what the humans have to say about me:
George is a special needs fully rear paralyzed shihtzu who needs to have his bladder expressed several times a day in lieu of traditional potty breaks. Failure to do so will cause leaking and potential urinary tract infections which can lead to bladder stones. It is citical for his adoption. George was relinquished by his family because he was rear paralyzed. We believe that his paralysis was from abuse and has left some emotional scars as well as the obvious phyiscal damage. George started out very guarded with humans as well as with foods and toys. He came to us very underweight and we suspect he was denied food as well. We have worked with George and earned his trust but whoever adopts him will need to do the same. It may take him a couple months or more before he feels safe. Once he does he will be an amazing companion. He loves his toys and thinks belly rubs are awesome. He will do best in a home with a dog of similar size that he can play with. He should not be around children because of his prior suspected history. It would be unfair to him and the children if he felt threatened and snapped at them. George is fulled vetted. He has been neutered, had a dental, all vaccinations, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. George will come with his custom made cart as well. We are not a brick and mortar shelter. We are home based fosters. We all work full time jobs and volunteer for the rescue. We try to get back to you in 48 hours. The process to adopt is to complete an adoption application. Once that is approved we can move on to a required home visit and schedule a meet and greet. We do no adopt out of state.
