My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a great family dog? Then Chip may be the one for you! Chip is a happy, easy-going, friendly guy that looks a lot like a "Bagel" (basset hound/beagle mix).


He seems to make friends easy--he loves people, has gotten along with other dogs that he's met, and ignores the resident cats (which is just fine by them!). In the house, Chip loves to be by you--especially if he thinks you might share your food with him. Outside, he's all hound with his nose close to the ground at all times. He's quiet, but may let out a funny throw-his-head-back-and-whoo-hooo call when he thinks you are too slow in getting his dinner to him.


When Chip moved from the dog shelter into foster care, it was discovered he had heartworms for which he has been treated for but still needs to be kept on a low activity schedule for just alittle while longer. He is perkier since he's regained his health and a bit of doggy sense of humor is starting to show. He would make a great playmate for children and companion for anybody looking for a four-legged friend.
