My Story
Joseph came to us after being at MCAC East for 7 ½ months and then being poorly handled in his adoptive home of 2 days. The Foster home where he is at is with a volunteer who worked with Joseph for months at the shelter and knows him well. The recommended age for children is 16+.

Joseph came to the shelter after his owner abandoned him with a relative in the middle of summer where he lived outside 24/7. When he was surrendered, he was skin and bones and scared.

During his shelter stay, Joseph...

* Participated in playgroups (prefers calm dogs)

* Attended monthly Offsite adoption events

* Loved Day Foster opportunities to get offsite

* Completed weekly training


While in foster, Joseph...

* Has reached his healthy weight of 70-75 pounds

* Learned to use the dog door

* Proven to be house-broken

* Displays his playful side with his tug rope and stuffed toys

* Likes to chew his bones/bully sticks

* Enjoys car rides and is the perfect passenger

* Loves walks, hikes, and attending social events

* Does fine with small dogs and is good with calm larger dogs

* Knows Commands...
* Heel, Stop, Wait, Come
* Place, Sit, Stay, Leave It, Wait (for food/treats), Down
* Will recall to “Joseph, Come” - will come and sit in front of you

* Walks loose leash
