Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tyler is a truly beautiful papillon. He is about 7 years old, housebroken, loves to walk but doesn’t run away even off leash. He loves to chase butterflies and bees, earning his title as a “butterfly dog”. His ear plumes have a lovely heart shape and his large eyes give his face a really sweet appearance. This boy is picture perfect, but we all know nothing is perfect. We don’t fully know Tyler’s history but somewhere along his path he has had some bad experiences and its left him a bit fearful of being handled and he has been moved around a bit. Tyler loves to follow his foster people and stays in the same room and he seems to prefer men to women but he isn’t comfortable being touched. He will sometimes come to you for a few pets, but it’s always on his own terms. If he gets agitated he will snarl and growl. He has not bitten his foster and even if a hand is left that could be bitten he has never hurt. He will let you place a collar on him and he is learning to be lifted up for baths but this beautiful boy will take some time and patience. If you have a place in your heart for a papillon who deserves to find some happy in the second half of his life and can be patient with him, perhaps you are the owner that can make a difference. This is not the boy for someone who wants a lap dog, but he’s a great independent and loyal pup who will need to learn to trust. He has been around other small dogs, cats, and children without trouble, but given his anxiety he needs to be in a home without live in children, visitors are fine.
